View Camp Schedule Here: Summer Camps 2018
All ETC Camps include physical theater, single-point trapeze, aerial silks, acrobatics, creative problem-solving, and performance. Students build confidence, grace, and strength as they explore their potential on the mats and in the air! Campers collaborate with peers and directors as they learn partner tricks, play physical theater games, and create a unique end-of-camp performance for family and friends.
Our exceptional student/teacher ratio enables our teaching artists to support the whole student, challenging campers with physical skills, while supporting and encouraging their emotional and creative growth. We value a learning environment that brings students of various ages and backgrounds together, encouraging mentor-ship and an inclusive atmosphere of mutual respect. We learn together, perform together, and grow together. When studying specific physical skills, students are divided into smaller groups, enabling our highly trained teaching artists to engage and challenge even the most experienced acrobats and aerialists!
Circus Theater Camp (ages 4 – 12, all levels)
This popular camp brings together the fun physical challenges of circus with the endless potential of storytelling to make an action-packed week of Circus Theater. Each day begins with an imagery-based warm-up, preparing campers to jump, swing, spin, and CREATE! Next, we explore physical theater concepts, playing with individual creative expression as well as collaborative group challenges.
The majority of camp is spent in smaller groups, building skills on single-point trapeze, aerial silks, acrobatics, juggling, stilt-walking, and more. Campers are divided by age and skill-level to ensure that each student is challenged and supported. Throughout the week students are encouraged to add their imaginations to the physical disciplines, tumbling like ninjas, spinning like cyclones, and collaborating with peers and directors to create imaginative end-of-camp performances for family and friends!
All-day camps include a trip to the park (weather permitting) and a more in depth exploration of circus theater, often including script-development, costume design, and mask-making, as well as obstacle courses and circus play.
