Death Of A Drag Queen
Death Of A Drag Queen
Fridays & Saturdays | December 5 - 20, 2025 | Show: 7:30 pm | Doors: 7:00 pm
Venue: Echo Theater: 1515 SE 37th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Death of a Drag Queen is a hilarious glitter-streaked Southern gothic about love, loss, and the personas we build to survive. Set in a small Louisiana apartment doubling as a backstage dressing room, the play follows Cram Brulée—a fading drag legend—as she prepares for what might be her final performance. Haunted by memories and betrayals, Cram struts, spirals, and sews her soul back together in a one-drag queen showdown soaked in sequins and secrets. Equal parts camp and confession, it’s a lipstick-stained elegy for those of us who love too much, give too much, and believe in everyone but ourselves.

Past performers have done things such as:
Hula-hooping for as long as possible!
Twisting as many balloons into dogs as possible while hanging upside-down!
Doing as many cartwheels as you can in 1 minute! (or until you fall over)!
Putting on as many socks as possible...one on top of the other!
Check out these videos from 2021's FUNathon for even more great ideas!
Once we receive your registration form, you will be sent a link to your online donation page and you can start collecting pledges from family and friends. All donations help support our financial aid, access, and outreach programs. Your participation gives others the chance to fly!

Witness the magic of unscripted Shakespeare!
Step into the offbeat world of Love, Shakespeare, where seasoned Portland comedians attempt something audacious: improvising a full-length Elizabethan play based on audience suggestions. Each show is, appropriately, a play within a play and follows a merry band of players (former buddies of Will Shakespeare himself) as they unravel one of the Bard's “unfinished” gems. Love, Shakespeare is a lively celebration that's equal parts homage and hilarity – a comedic gem not to be missed.

Eleanor O’Brien and Aaron Wheeler-Kay have teamed up to create a Valentine’s Day experience unlike any other.
The Echo Theater will be transformed into a space for relaxation and sensory engagement. Low lighting and live music; essential oil diffusers lightly perfuming the air;
Aerial cocoons and soft pillow nests, a consensual cuddle space, chairs at a remove, all available vantage points from which to be told surprising and daring stories.
Audience members may choose to be blindfolded while they listen, and for those who indicate consent, trained touch tenders will offer soothing touch for hands and feet.
O’Brien and Wheeler-Kay will take turns reading from the extensive story collection of local erotic author Ange LeLangue. The stories are a sapiosexual delight, full of gender bending imagination and fantasy grounded in somatic sensation that transport listeners from the erotic opportunities of deep space to a bed that causes shared dreams.
Echo Theater invites all bodies. Please contact hello@EchoTheaterPDX.org if you have specific access questions or needs.
