When a woman returns to her childhood home to help her mother move out, she discovers the descendants of a mouse family she befriended long ago. As the mice share stories of their ancestors' lives, they reveal the resilience and resourcefulness they will need to manage their own impending displacement.
Through acrobatics, aerial arts, puppetry, and storytelling, Echo’s ensemble brings to life a story of humor, wonder, and empathy that will entertain and delight audiences of all ages.
“Squeakin’ By” is 45-minute performance followed by a 15-minute talk back with the performers.
Curricular themes include: creative writing, collaboration, interdisciplinary performance, space exploration, resiliency, intergenerational exchange, displacement, aging, non-competitive athletics, circus arts, cooperation, balance/strength/flexibility, imagination, site-specific theater.
