Venue: Echo Theater: 1515 SE 37th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Echo Theater Presents: Send in the Clowns (2013) A Benefit for Clowns Without Borders
Join us for a special screening of Sam Lee's 2013 documentary on the power of laughter and joy in the face of adversity.
Clowns Without Borders USA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that exists for a simple reason: to bring the transformative power of joy to areas of conflict, displacement, and emergency. We envision a world where kids get to experience contagious laughter and unbridled joy in the very moments they need it most.
Send in the Clowns follows performers from the organization Clowns Without Borders. Their mission is to travel to areas of crisis and relieve stress and suffering through laughter. The clowns are volunteers, armed with a unique set of skills and an earnest desire to change the world. But is their work any different from all of the other agenda-driven aid organizations?
The evening will include a Q+A session with Josie Mae (CWB Performer Ecuador, Turkey, El Salvador) and others.
This event is a pre-party for the 25th Annual Portland Clowns Without Borders Benefit Show; March 30, 2024 at the Alberta Rose Theater. We hope to see you there, too!
Suggested donation $10; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
All Proceeds benefit Clowns Without Borders Portland.

Venue: Echo Theater: 1515 SE 37th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
BRIDGE CITY IMPROV presents two stalwart indie groups, featuring talent that helped shape the Portland improv scene we know and love today.

Then make way for BROAD SELECTION (Katie Nguyen, Mariah Muñoz, Betse Green, Lisa Brousseau, Janet Scanlon, Whitney Johnson, Adrienne Flagg, Kerry Leek), a powerhouse of some of Portland’s most experienced improv performers and teachers. The troupe formed at the Brody Theater in 2003, and they were featured artists at the 2017 and 2019 Stumptown Improv Festivals. A hilarious three-ring FUNdraising circus of the extraordinary starring...YOU!

You are invited to perform! Students, parents, family and friends are all invited to take the stage. Past performers have done things such as:
Hula-hooping for as long as possible!
Twisting as many balloons into dogs as possible while hanging upside-down!
Doing as many cartwheels as you can in 1 minute! (or until you fall over)!
Putting on as many socks as possible...one on top of the other!
Check out these videos from 2021's FUNathon for even more great ideas!
3 ways to participate! :
Prizes include:
Grand Prize -- $200 ETC gift certificate
Two tickets to a show of your choice
ETC merchandise
How can I participate in FUNathon!?
Invent a FUNathon activity that works in one of these categories:
How Much/Many (can you do in a given amount of time)?
How Long (can you keep doing it)?
Other (please explain)!
Once we receive your registration form, you will be sent a link to your online donation page and you can start collecting pledges from family and friends. All donations help support our financial aid, access, and outreach programs.
Invite everyone to attend the FUNathon so they can witness your FUNdraising performance for themselves!!
Donations help support our financial aid, outreach and inclusion services.

DUALITY: Tempos Contemporary Circus
DUALITY: Tempos Training Company
There is no escaping duality. We will find the advantage or disadvantage of any experience if we just stretch our imaginations sideways. Understanding and appreciation are never complete until the two sides of the proverbial coin and the synergy between their relationship is understood.
In a world of duality, we find ourselves looking for the common thread that unites us.
Tempos Training Company has been exploring this concept through physical theater, dance, partner acrobatics, and aerial arts over the past 9 months. They are delighted to take the stage and share with you their original ensemble show DUALITY. Choreography and concept have been created by the entire ensemble and led by their fearless coaches Kraig Mead, Angela Bryant, and Kaely Summers.
